Brixham 11-16 Torquay
25/10/08 17:33 Filed in: Match Review
This as a
typically abrasive local derby with its fair share
of penalties and yellow cards (of which Ben Cole
had two), but it was the Tics who made the most of
it and converted their kicks to come out victors.
Elsewher the Quins won, but the Extras and colts
were defeated, all vs
Brixham.

Torquay 29-17 Avonmouth OB's (Int Cup)

Torquay
turned in their most complete performance of the
season so far to overcome tough opposition from
the same League. The OB’s are early League
pace-setters so this match could be seen as a

at the Rec. With Newton slipping on the Sidmouth
banana skin, Tics go third. There’s a break from
League rugby for the Intermediate Cup, before the
Tics travel to their second local derby of the
season away to Brixham 25th

Taunton 24-8 Torquay

Torquay
battled hard in the wind and the rain at Hyde Park
and barring a few missed tackles leading to some
easy tries for the hosts, would have been in the
running at half-time and might have fancied their
chances playing with the elements in the second
period. Still such statements of the obvious don’t
negate the fact that the Tics have slipped into
the ranks of the ‘also-rans’ and will need to work
hard for the rest of the season in order to keep
pace with the front-runners as the League table
distils into a valid form
