Despite
the score line Exmouth started strongly and produced
some good rugby early on, to the point where they
were looking like the first team to score when they
were held up in the Torquay goal area. Torquay
managed to defend well enough to work their way out
of trouble.
The end result was not the only pleasing part of this friendly against Exmouth for Torquay. With as many as Ten players either injured or unavailable for this game it meant that Torquay had to reshuffle the side and had several players out of their usual positions.

Tom Harris was the first to score for Torquay (Con Aaron Graham) with a solo break . This was followed by Jo Ward on 22 mins (no Con) and Aaron Graham (con Aaron Graham) on 30 mins. Torquay playing good open rugby with their forwards winning fast clean ball.
Torquay started strongly in the second half with Tom Harris getting his second on 2 mins. Further tries followed from Aaron Hearne, Nathan Ford, Jo Ward (2nd), Tom Harris (3rd) and finally Henry Raby, who had an impressive game at number nine. (Arran Graham 2 cons & Tom Harris 2 cons).
This result showed great strength in depth for Torquay with a number of players out of position they worked well together and proved there is a good team spirit amongst the players which will be needed over the next couple of weeks when they have some tough league games ahead of them.
