Stonehouse 0 vs Torquay Colts 17

The result keeps Torquay in the running and will be looking forward to resuming the league fixtures in January.

Despite the very cold conditions Torquay managed to get on the score sheet early to settle their nerves. They turned over possession almost from the kick off and after two strong drives down field by the forwards, quick possession enabled winger Aaron Graham to race over in the corner. No conversion.

Ten minutes later following further continued pressure from the Torquay forwards Jo Ward spotted a gap and ran twenty meters to score. No conversion.

Torquay sustained their pressure throughout the rest of the first half but dogged determination and continued tackling from Stonehouse kept the score the same.

Again Torquay started the half at pace when on five mins a kick ahead was chased down by Aaron Graham who raced to the line for his second try. He also kicked the conversion. For the rest of the half Torquay lost some shape and with Stonehouse still as determined in the tackle could not turn pressure into points. Errors from both sides crept into the game and as much as Torquay tried they could not capitalise from the possession they had.The cold weather turned fingers into ice and the ball kept going to ground.

The result keeps Torquay in the running and will be looking forward to resuming the league fixtures in January.
