Torquay Colts 36 vs Brigham Colts 5
In a game that was always going to be fiercely contested Torquay produced an early start that didn't allow Brixham to recover from. Torquay started well and were a try up within 2 mins when their first attack ended in Tom Harris gliding his way past the Brixham defence to score his first try. No conversion.
This seemed to unsettle Brixham a little but as you would expect from any Brixham side they soon got back into the game. The next 20 mins play from Torquay was as good as they have played all season by attacking in numbers and providing good quick ball which enabled them to score a further two tries on 15 mins and 23 mins through Aaron Hern and captain George Mills. No cons.
This is how the first half finished with Brixham playing their way back into the game.
Torquay were to increase their score early in the second half when on 8 mins were awarded a penalty and quick thinking by Rory Williams allowed him to find his way over the line out wide. No conversion.
Continued pressure from Torquay placed them down on the Brixhan 22 and following several infringements resulted in a Brixham yellow card on 15 mins. It didn't take Torquay long to take advantage when Tom Harris went over for his second shortly after. No conversion.
Torquay were soon further in front when Jack Keiller kicked a penalty on 20 mins but this was followed from the restart with a handling error from the kick off and a Brixham player pouncing on the ball and raced to the line to score. No conversion.
Torquay were next on the score sheet with another Jack Keiller penalty kick on 25 mins followed by a well worked try for Ollie Hill on 30 mins having found some space on the wing.
Brixham battled hard all game but found it difficult to regain any control from the early tries scored. The game seemed allot closer than the result may suggest.
