This friendly gave Torquay an opportunity to make sure all their squad played. With Tom Harris playing for the 1st Team and Jo Ward in the 2nds it gave other players a chance to shine.

Barnstaple themselves have a young colts side this season and certainly came to give Torquay a difficult afternoon. Their forwards were strong and continually forced Torquay into errors. The first half reflected this as Torquay managed to score on 20 mins through winger Aaron Hearn following a period of pressure from Torquay forwards, no conversion. The first half continued fairly even, although there were allot of errors and penalties, from both sides.
 
Torquay came out the stronger in the second half with tries from Alex Truscott and Tom Blight, no conversions, on 5 & 10 mins. Both tries end results of Torquay using well won possession effectively. 
 
Barnstaple came back into the game and continued to work hard up front but Torquay held strong in defence and managed to keep them out until 20 mins when they ran in a try under the posts, converted.
 
Torquay held strong and were rewarded with a try under the posts, Aaron Graham converted, on 60 mins through Josh Heath following a slick backs move with Heath running a good direct line through the defence.
