We would like to welcome everyone back to The Rec for season 2010/11. One that will certainly be challenging but we trust will be equally as rewarding.
We are buoyed by the appointment new coach in Richard Burden. He comes to The Rec with an excellent pedigree and an impressive record of previous success. His training sessions are designed so that players of every level can participate; they are very well structured and have well received by all senior players.
Our main role is to fully support Richard both on and off the pitch and to try and ensure he has at his disposal everything he needs to be successful in his job.
Our belief is that this club has a squad of players all of whom are to be equally valued and all of whom are to be given the opportunity to play at the highest level they wish to attain.
There is no doubt that some re-building of the first team will need to be achieved over the season. We are retaining a strong focus on the positive transition from Colts Rugby to the senior teams - where youth is given every chance to push the club forward.
This season we have made a return to our traditional club colours of Black and White Hoops. This would not have been possible without the superb efforts of our fund raising team and the generosity of our sponsers, we thank you for all of your support.
Unfortunately, we dropped down a league last season but we now have to build on the great work done by both Ben Cole and Mike McDonald over the last few years. We would certainly want to get back up to SW1 as quickly as possible and we certainly believe we can be in the promotion mix in the latter stage of this season.
Finally we would like to thank all of our players for their continued commitment. We should all remember that we are a truly amateur club, where the players at every level play for the badge and for pride.
It is our aim that everyone should also get as much enjoyment out of the game both on and off the pitch. We want to encourage attractive rugby at The Rec and on the road and would like all TICS supporters to enjoy their rugby this season whilst really getting behind our teams as they play.
